The Modern Men and Personal Care – The Evolution Into Metro-Sexuals

Personal care, including skin care and vanity products, is used to be the concern only of women. The seasons have however changed with time and men seem to be interested in this aspect of vanity and personal care. Indeed, the modern men have already evolved.

In the past, skin care had only been associated with the females. It is exclusive to this process of beautification of a woman's image. For women, a presentable image with flawless and young-looking skin is a must.

Men, on the other hand, are perceived with this sense of masculinity, toughness, and intelligence. Males in the past are basically low maintenance. They care less about the topics of personal care and vanity. Therefore, a man's lifestyle before did not particularly involve a definite skin care to deal with acne and other skin problems.

The seasons have changed. The modern men have evolved into this vanity-conscious creature which is very different from what he had shown centuries ago. The men of today show a softer side in life. The modern male of today has the freedom to buy new and better clothes, go to hair dressers, and get the latest skin treatment and skin care products.

This softer side of men is called metro sexuality. Men have evolved into metro sexuals. Today, men are more involved and aware of their skin, hair, and total appearance. Fortunately, it has really impressed the women of today.

Metro sexuality is not a new gender. It rather refers to the "new" masculinity. It actually eliminated the clear distinction of a man's world and that of a woman's. Men are free to explore the world of fashion, hairstyles, and skin care. Furthermore, this had led to a new way of thinking in terms of attitude, gender discrimination, and jobs equality. Indeed, this is great news for everybody.
